The full program for the 8th National Editors Conference hosted by the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) has been launched and covers a broad spectrum of technology related topics.

The conference titled ‘Advancing our Profession’ will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13 to 15 September. It has three streams — building alliances, professional development and technology —with the technology stream including a session on editing in education in a digital world and a session covering how technology is changing the business of editing. If you’re not sure what a UX writer is or how to use screencasting, there are sessions that will explain both.

The program also includes topics on contracts between authors and editors and thesis editing. Other highlights include a number of panels, an emerging leaders forum and a special presentation by Dr Sandra Phillips from Queensland University of Technology, where she will discuss editing literature with Indigenous cultural content and related topics, as well as the black&write! program.
