ABC journalists from across Queensland have been named as finalists in this year’s Clarion Awards – Queensland’s major awards for journalistic excellence – administered by the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA).
The awards recognise media professionals who excel in their fields and whose stories best inform and entertain Queenslanders. Regional Editor Queensland, Cathie Schnitzerling said that it was exciting to see a variety of ABC journalists named as 2017 Clarion Award finalists.
“Our journalists and teams work extremely hard to identify and produce compelling stories that reflect the lives and culture of regional Australians. We are extremely proud of the work of our teams, and to see so many of our journalists acknowledged in this year’s Clarions is a tremendous honour,” said Ms Schnitzerling.
“Our journalists strive to connect the stories, people, and conversations of our communities through radio, television, online and mobile services.”
The Queensland Clarion Awards are the pre-eminent state-based awards promoting excellence in the media.
