All writers have different expectations and experiences of editing. This experiential workshop will take participants through a practical editing journey to build their understanding of editing (what it is and isn’t), their editing skills and their ability to discern when a story is submission-ready.

About Sue Wright


Sue Wright runs Tiny Owl Workshop, an award-winning micro-publisher based in Brisbane that publishes and produces novellas, children’s books, zines and multi-media projects. Sue has worked in libraries, government and small business, and as a freelance illustrator. She’s known for innovative projects like Napkin Stories and Krampus Crackers, and partners on projects with Terry Whidborne through their Curious imprint.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?


Unless otherwise stated, Queensland Writers Centre workshops and events are suitable for participants aged 16 years and over. If you are under 18 years of age, please check with us for suitability before purchasing a ticket. 


Membership and concession tickets will be confirmed on arrival.


What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

What can I bring into the event?


You can bring either pen and paper or a laptop along with you to write with. If you do bring a laptop, please remember to bring a power adaptor if necessary. 


Will this event be livestreamed?


Queensland Writers Centre aims to provide material to its members regardless of where they reside within Queensland by livestreaming some events. Attendees may be broadcast periodically throughout the event as recording takes place. If you wish not to be filmed, let staff know prior to the event.

What’s the refund policy?


If Queensland Writers Centre cancels an event, we will try to reschedule it for a later date. If we cannot reschedule the event, or if you are unable to attend on the amended date, your payment will be refunded in full.
Except in special circumstances, if you cancel a booking for, or are unable to attend an event, workshop, seminar, or course, Queensland Writers Centre cannot provide a refund. You can contact us to discuss your situation on 07 3842 9922 or email us at admin@qldwriters.org.au
