Scriptwriting for Non-Scriptwriters with Veny Armanno

This course will introduce writers from other styles of writing (prose, poetry, etc.) to the basic skills of screenwriting using the Hollywood feature film as our model. We’ll cover the accepted format of film scripts and how to work with the shorthand of film narrative. Participants will be introduced to the narrative structure of film storytelling and concepts involved in the adaptation of existing material (i.e., how to adapt your own work). The course will also present practical information about the business of film and the professional practice of scriptwriting.

Workshop for beginner to emerging writers. More information on program formats and level definitions can be found here.
