Pitch an Article to WQ
WQ (magazine and online) features content commissioned by Queensland Writers Centre as well as articles pitched to the masthead. QWC welcomes pitches and submissions from QWC members and other interested parties. Articles should appeal to writers at different stages of their careers, ranging from those who are just starting out through to seasoned professionals.
Please note: we accept only non-fiction articles on writing and the writing industry; we do not accept fiction or poetry.
WQ pays contributing writers a rate of 15c per word for articles, to a maximum of 800 words, unless otherwise negotiated. (Please note – interviews conducted by QWC that promote an author or their work do not attract payment.)
Our editorial team endeavour to answer all pitch inquiries within three weeks.
