The Group is open to writers of all ages and experience. A small fee is applicable per meeting. The group welcomes a mixture of experienced and beginners and deals with all disciplines of Creative Writing. The Group is chaired by published writer Raymond W Clarke.
Our group inspires women to succeed in their writing. Originally started as the Society of Women Writers Australia in 1925, each state group became independent organisations, and we have been operating as SWWQ since 1982. We work with writers of all genres.
The Springfield Writers Group was formed to bring together local writers for support and fellowship. The group accepts writers from beginners to established professional writers, and there is no restriction on genre. The group’s goal is to encourage and inspire, to support and share, and to develop a network of writing friends. This way, members always have a pool of Beta-readers and editors to help them, with the understanding they must return the favour on request. As well, there is always someone available for a chat about writing-related problems.
In 2017, the group wrote and published its first anthology, Return, with all the stories having a connection to Halley’s Comet. The group hopes to publish an anthology every year, to help broaden the experience and skills of our group members.
We believe everyone is made of the Write Stuff.
Stanthorpe Writers Group supports the development of writers from beginners to experienced in an encouraging environment. All ages, genres and backgrounds welcome. Some meetings involve cake though usually a combination of critiquing and workshops. Auspiced by CDS Stanthorpe.
We meet on the first Wednesday of the month at the School of Arts, and on the third Wednesday at the Botanic Gardens down by Murray Lagoon. We also run a poetry group on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, both times at the School of Arts. Both are open to new members.
Our events, competitions and publications are always on the Facebook page so that’s normally the best place to look.
