Omega Writers

Most of our writers identify with the Christian faith but all are welcome. Our sessions often focus on an aspect of writing craft, discussion of the industry and mutual critique of group members’ work. The Omega Writers Brisbane group is part of the national Omega Writers Association.

Orange Grove Writers are a friendly group which meets every week. We offer each other constructive criticism, support and encouragement and also exchange information about competitions, opportunities and events. Sometimes topics are suggested but members mostly prefer to work on their own projects (mainly short stories, plays or novels). New members are very welcome.  We do not charge any fees.

Every Tuesday from 1.00-3.00 pm with a break for about a month – mid-December to mid-January.

Share Your Story helps aspiring authors by connecting them with active and successful industry professionals to help them on their journey to publication. Attending workshops with fellow creatives optimises your ability to keep your network fresh and active, strengthen connections and know more about the people who are succeeding in your chosen industry. Across the world, a revolution has taken place. Driven by advancements in social networking, creatives have unprecedented opportunities to share their story with the world. The publishing industry is changing and it can be harder to get a book published than ever before. Writers are looking to achieve a deeper engagement with publishers and readers by empowering themselves with the knowledge they need to be a successfully published author.

We are a creative writing group for the vision impaired, or legally blind. We meet once a month and each meeting is a workshop, where everyone writes from prompts. Writers use laptops, Braille machines, or dictate to a sighted scribe. We produced a double CD set of stories and poems in 2009, which was narrated and broadcast on Radio4RPH.
