QWC is passionate about supporting Queensland writers. Through the Fellowships and Access program, QWC provides professional development opportunities for writers from diverse backgrounds. The QWC Fellowships and Access fund was established in 2015 through support from our members, staff, management committee and the wider literary community. The funds raised by our supporters enabled QWC to receive matched funding through Creative Partnerships Australia’s Plus 1 program.

The fund provides one-off funding of up to $500 per writer to support the cost of course fees, travel, accommodation or other expenses that may otherwise prevent them from participating in creative and professional development with QWC.
In 2017 we are offering up to eight grants through this program.
