Youth Writing Saturday & Middle Ground

Youth Writing Saturday

Queensland Writers Centre's monthly creative writing workshop for young people aged 10-16.

Youth Writing Saturday sessions take budding young writers on an adventure through their imagination, as they write and create their very own stories, worlds, characters and more. Let us inspire them to take their first steps as a creative storyteller and join a supportive community.

Middle Ground

A monthly creative writing group and freeform workshop for writers aged 16-20.

School is ending. University and the workforce are on the horizon. But are you worried about losing that spark of creativity? This regular writing group and freeform workshop is your opportunity to connect with likeminded writers and work on your stories, with access to advice and a consistent structure.

Helps to bridge the gap - or ‘middle ground’ - between our youth and adult programs.

Queensland Writers Centre tutors facilitate the workshops and offer support by listening to ideas, reading work, and helping edit pieces for submission opportunities. We’re all about working towards goals, publishing opportunities, allowing for writing time and free discussion at every session.
